RSVP - THE BIG FAIRTRADE KNIT - 6th March 2009

Thousands of people went bananas for Fairtrade by eating a Fairtrade banana between noon on 6th and

noon on 7th March, as part of the world’s biggest banana-eating event in Fairtrade Fortnight.

Pictured above are some of the 50 City RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Programme) volunteers who helped start the proceedings in the City by eating a banana after its regular monthly charity knitting session at 12 noon on 6th March in the Sir Ralph Perring Club (adj Golden Lane Leisure Centre) Golden Lane Estate, Fann Street, EC1Y 0SH. Waitrose, Barbican very kindly donated the bananas and some excellent fairtrade refreshments.
