Matrix Knowledge Group will be making sure their staff know it is Fairtrade Fortnight with two weeks of fun events to raise money and awareness. The tuckshop in the office will be Fairtrade products only for two weeks and money raised from the tuck shop and activities will be going to charity!
Monday 23rd February: Book Sale – We would like to request that each person brings in one book they no longer want. These books will go on sale for £1.00 each next to the tuck shop
Fairtrade Tombola competition – Raffle tickets are on sale at reception. £1.00 for a strip of tickets - prizes will include Fairtrade products. (Result to be announce on Friday 6th March)
Tuesday 24th February: Dry Cornflakes Competition (the person who eats a bowl of cornflakes – without milk in the fastest time wins) – if you would like to participate and win a fabulous Fairtrade prize please sign up with Bruna at Reception. The competition will take place on Tuesday 24th Feb at 10.30am Dress up in the Fairtrade colours - £1.00 to enter, £2.00 to forfeit.
Wednesday 25th February: Coconut Shy (with Fairtrade coconuts we hope!) – £1 per go, you will get 3 chances to knock the coconut off the shy – Great prizes for the winners!
Thursday 26th February: Charge for Errands Day – If someone asks you to do them a favour you can charge them £1.00.
Friday 27th February: Fairtrade Wine Tasting – This will begin at 5.00pm on Friday 27th Feb. All wines will be Fairtrade, please come and sample them from £2.00 per tipple
Monday 2nd March: Cake Baking Competition - All participants must put their names down during week one. Your main ingredients will be given to you on Friday 27th Feb in order to have the weekend to make your cake. The judges will assemble in the staff kitchen at 10.30am on Monday 2nd to decide on a winner. Slices of cake will be on sale once the winner has been announced.
Tuesday 3rd March: Sector Challenge – This is similar to University Challenge but without the university students! Please nominate 4 people from each sector to participate. The winning team will receive a prize. This will begin at 4.00pm in the large meeting room if people would like to watch
Wednesday 4th March: Match the pet to the owner competition – During week one please bring a picture of yourself and your pet and hand them over to Bruna on reception. All pictures will be put up on Wednesday in the staff kitchen area where people will have the opportunity to match them up. £1.00 to participate!
Thursday 5th March: Colouring competition – Sheets will be held at reception. Please come and help yourselves but make sure they are back with Bruna by Thursday 5th March to be entered in to the competition. £1.00 per entry. A great prize to be won for the winner!
Friday 6th March: Tombola result! And Go Bananas for Fairtrade!! Eat a Banana between midday today and midday on Saturday 7th March to help create an international record!!!
